Forex spreads
Major forex CFD spreads are advertised from 0.6 pips. Spreads are variable and may widen with liquidity, market conditions, time and position size.
Commission and other charges
Forex, indices and most non-share CFDs are primarily spread priced. Share CFDs use market-specific commissions; UK online rates start at 0.10% for eligible UK/EU shares or USD 0.02 per US share, subject to minimum charges. Overnight funding, conversion, data and optional platform fees may apply.
Execution model
IG provides execution-only services and normally acts as principal or market maker for over-the-counter CFDs and spread bets. Eligible experienced clients can use DMA for share or forex CFDs through L2 Dealer.
Highest publicly verified leverage
1:222 for eligible UK professional clients on forex, indices and commodities, based on a 0.45% published margin rate. IG International and UAE professional accounts advertise up to 1:200; retail caps are commonly lower.
Margin close-out
For FCA retail accounts, open positions must be closed when account equity falls to 50% of the total required margin. Other entities apply their local agreement and product rules; IG may close positions without waiting for a deposit.
Negative balance protection
Applied to retail accounts where required or expressly offered, including UK and IG International retail CFD accounts. It does not apply to professional clients and should not be assumed for every product or entity.
Minimum trade size
Instrument- and account-specific. The deal ticket or product details show the applicable minimum; no single brand-wide minimum is published.
Islamic account
No generally available swap-free account was confirmed in the reviewed official account pages.

Leveraged derivatives can cause rapid and substantial losses. Retail loss percentages, negative-balance protection and margin limits belong to the relevant contracting entity and must not be applied across the brand. Professional clients can lose more than their deposits.
